- Heroes, faith, and hope dominated stories by Team A's photographers. Our team tapestry took up the lives of a woman comforting those near life's end; an 80-year-old volunteer on a mission to feed the town's hungry with castoffs from area grocery stores; a Baptist minister brand new to town, reaching out to his flock; and a young man struggling for normalcy with a body wracked by disease. And every town's fabric, daily living, came into focus for two photographers who explored the clips and shaves of a downtown barbershop and the cramped circumstance facing a family with four kids living in a mobile home. National Geographic editor Dennis Dimick and Washington Post Photographer Lois Raimondo guided Team A's efforts.
