Since 1999 Brenda Whaley has trimmed, washed and coiffed man’s best friend in her small shop on the west side of town. “K-9 Fantasy” is the only pet grooming salon remaining in Macon, Missouri. She enjoys the freedom and flexibility of having her own business.

For Whaley, working with dogs brings a certain pleasure to her routine, openly admitting that “I like dogs better than I like people.” She plans to continue at the shop, eventually hoping to pass the business off to someone with her same love for animals.
