  • "This is where my heart is," Richard Martin, 23, says about the dairy farm he was raised on. Martin Dairy Farm, a small family farm, is located in Jefferson County, Missouri, outside the city limits of Pevely. He returned home after graduating college four months ago to help his father run the farm, and one day will take it over just as his father did for Richard's grandfather.

Becoming a dairy farmer wasn't Richard's first dream. At 15 years old, he was already able to throw a baseball 92 mph and was expecting a promising career playing professional ball until he injured his shoulder in a high school wrestling match. While in college, Richard realized where he belonged. "It got to the point where I was coming home 2 to 3 times a week," Richard reflects about missing home. Like his father and grandfather before him, there's no place he'd rather be.
