  • Mary Marshall, 62, was instilled with strong values from her parents who lived during the Great Depression. She was always taught to “take care of your own.” Mary lives with her husband Rex, 64, in the mansion formerly owned by the late U.S. Congressman Jerry Lutton. Their life together began in a three-bedroom ranch house with nine children and no money. In 1970, Rex bought his own construction company. Rex accumulated a few farms, nearly 500 acres, and is now a wealthy man. Despite her husband’s riches, Mary holds down three jobs Monday through Friday to help provide some financial support for her children, and to have some money of her own. Mary is constantly moving all day, everyday, driven by her commitment to her family and sustained by her strong spirit.
