The Economic Future of Family Farming
The 56th Missouri Photo Workshop (MPW)

Melvin Jacob is the fourth generation to work the family farm just across the Missouri River from Herman Missouri. As his forty years on the land is quickly drawing to a close, it is time to pass the torch to his 33-year-old son Scott. With farming in his heart and soul and the idea of starting his own family with an impending wedding, Scott is not sure of the economic future or farming.

With so much history between the land and the family, Scott's pride stands between himself and the possibilities of letting it go. At the same time, Melvin's four-year-old twin grandchildren from his daughter have stars in their eyes about someday following in the footsteps of the previous generations.
