The Missouri Photo Workshop celebrated it's 55th year of truth with a camera in Louisiana, Mo. Workshop photographers came from all over the world to document this Mississippi River community during the week-long effort. It is a task MPW has performed in nearly 40 rural Missouri communities since 1949.

As the face of middle America has changed, MPW has tried to keep pace and create a visual history book. The technology has changed, moving from black and white to color film, and now to a digital format. What hasn't changed is the purely documentary and honest approach to photojournalism.
