• VIEW STORY: Donald Ringling: The Spirit of the Village of the Blue Rose •

"Surely all people do not have to be alike, think alike, act alike or look alike". -From the book "A Blue Rose" by Gerta Klein

The Village of the Blue Rose is one of the best-kept secrets in Pike County, Missouri. It's a bed and breakfast that employees four disabled adults and inspires independence. Donald Ringling, 24, lives here in his parent's home and is employed by the Village. His parents see this as an opportunity to fulfill their hopes for Donald's independence. Donald was born with Down's syndrome.
