The Missouri Photo Workshop celebrated it's 55th year of documentary photography in Louisiana, Mo. Workshop photographers came from all over the world to document this Mississippi River community during the week-long effort. It is a task MPW has performed in nearly 40 rural Missouri communities since 1949.

As the face of middle America has changed, MPW has tried to keep pace and create a visual history book. The technology has changed, moving from black and white to color film, and now to a digital format. What hasn't changed is the purely documentary and honest approach to photojournalism.
